Shandu's Funeral plans

No problem, you can cancel at any time at no cost. We'll then provide a full refund within 14 days of receiving your request.

Your Nominated Representative can choose to either pay the balance or cancel the plan.

This person can be anyone you trust to be the point of contact when you die. When that happens, they’ll get in touch with us to help arrange next steps with our Funeral Services Provider and work closely with your Shandu's Funeral team to make sure all their questions are answered.

The term "Funeral Services Provider" refers to a business or individual that offers services related to the management and conduct of funerals. This can include but is not limited to, the provision of a funeral director, funeral planning, preparation of the deceased (such as embalming or burial), conducting the funeral ceremony, providing transportation for the deceased, and offering various funeral products like caskets, urns, or memorial items. Funeral services providers are responsible for coordinating the logistical and ceremonial aspects of funerals, ensuring that the wishes of the deceased and their families are honored and respected.

When you pay for an Shandu's Funerals plan, the money for your funeral is put into a safe and secure trust. This is managed by independent trustees separate from Shandu's Funerals. The trustees look after this money on your behalf until it is needed to pay for your funeral.

If you’re struggling to pay, just get in touch. We'll work with you and do everything we can to keep the plan affordable. If you miss two payments, we’ll write to you within five business days of the second missed payment and ask you to contact us. If we don’t hear from you after that, we may cancel the plan.

Just get in touch by phone or email. There’s no fee for making a change and you’ll only pay extra if you upgrade your plan.

If you move away from your area, Shandu's Funerals offers flexible options to accommodate your needs. You can transfer your plan to a new location within our network at no additional cost, ensuring that your funeral arrangements can still be honored according to your wishes. Please contact us as soon as possible to discuss your move and how we can continue to support you

At the moment, our plans only cover mainland South Africa. We’d happily support your family with repatriation but that would be an extra cost to your plan.
